Position Overview:

This leader is responsible for the overarching vision, strategic planning, and successful execution of the agentic AI solution integrated within the ERP application, leveraging the full capabilities of Google Vertex AI. This role involves aligning AI initiatives with business objectives, managing the team and resources, and ensuring the delivery of impactful AI-driven automation and intelligence.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Formulate and clearly articulate the strategic roadmap for embedding AI-powered automation and intelligent features within the ERP system, with a strong emphasis on utilizing Google Vertex AI services.
• Identify and prioritize key business processes within the ERP landscape that present opportunities for significant enhancement or complete automation through agentic AI solutions, considering the strengths of Vertex AI.
• Define the precise scope, measurable objectives, and critical key performance indicators (KPIs) for all AI-related projects and initiatives deployed on the Vertex AI platform.
• Assume full responsibility for managing the project budget, allocation of team resources, and adherence to project timelines for the entire AI solutions team and their utilization of Vertex AI resources.
• Establish and maintain strong collaborative relationships with stakeholders across various departments (Finance, Procurement, Sales, Operations, etc.) to thoroughly understand their business needs and effectively prioritize AI applications powered by Vertex AI.
• Provide strong leadership and mentorship to the Data Science, Agent Engineering, and ERP Integration teams, guiding them on best practices for leveraging Google Vertex AI and ensuring cohesive team performance.
• Establish and enforce strict adherence to data governance policies, security protocols, and ethical AI principles within the Google Cloud environment and the use of Vertex AI.
• Continuously monitor and evaluate the latest advancements in artificial intelligence, machine learning, agentic technologies, and the evolving features and services offered by Google Vertex AI.
• Prepare and deliver clear and concise reports on project progress, potential risks, and emerging opportunities related to the Vertex AI implementation to executive leadership.

Essential Skills & Experience:

• Extensive and demonstrable experience (8+ years) in leading and successfully delivering impactful AI or machine learning solutions within a business context, with a significant and proven track record of utilizing Google Cloud Platform and its Vertex AI services.
• Comprehensive understanding of a wide range of AI/ML techniques, including Natural Language Processing (NLP), Large Language Models (LLMs), and agentic frameworks, with practical experience in their implementation within the Google Vertex AI ecosystem (e.g., PaLM 2, Gemini, Vertex AI Agents, Vertex AI Workbench).
• Demonstrated experience working with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) and a solid understanding of their underlying data structures, coupled with experience in integrating these systems with Google Cloud services.
• Exceptional leadership, interpersonal communication, and stakeholder management abilities, with a proven ability to influence and drive consensus across diverse teams.
• Proven ability to effectively translate complex business requirements into clear and actionable technical specifications for implementation on the Vertex AI platform and vice versa.
• Relevant Google Cloud Professional certifications (e.g., Cloud Architect, Data Engineer, Machine Learning Engineer).
• Google Cloud Platform (GCP): Expert-level understanding of a broad range of GCP services, with deep expertise in Vertex AI (Workbench, Training, Endpoints, Agents, Model Registry, Experiments, Data Labeling), Cloud Functions, Cloud Run, App Engine, Cloud Storage, BigQuery, IAM, and networking principles within GCP.
• AI/ML Ecosystem: Strong familiarity with major AI/ML frameworks and libraries, including TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, and the transformers library.
• Agentic Frameworks: Thorough understanding of the concepts, architectures, and capabilities of prominent agentic frameworks such as LangChain and AutoGen, and practical knowledge of their integration with Large Language Models.
• Large Language Models (LLMs): In-depth awareness of the capabilities, limitations, and best practices for utilizing Large Language Models like PaLM 2 and Gemini, as offered within the Vertex AI environment.
• API Integration: Proven experience with designing and implementing RESTful APIs, gRPC, and other standard integration patterns relevant to connecting AI services with enterprise systems, including ERPs.
• Data Engineering Basics: Solid understanding of data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, and data warehousing concepts, particularly within the context of Google BigQuery.
• DevOps Principles: Familiarity with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines and Machine Learning Operations (MLOps) practices as implemented on the Google Cloud Platform.

Educational Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Business Administration, or a closely related field.
