Senior Cloud Engineer – Azure / GCP

Position Overview:

Senior Cloud Engineer with deep technical expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or Microsoft Azure, with a strong emphasis on security, compliance, automation, and migrations. The candidate should have hands-on approach to designing, implementing, and securing cloud infrastructure while ensuring best practices for identity and access management (IAM), data security, threat detection, and compliance frameworks such as ISO 27001, 27017, 27018, and SOC 2

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Cloud Infrastructure & Security:
  • Design, deploy, and maintain secure, scalable, and resilient cloud solutions on Azure or GCP.
  • Implement security best practices, including IAM, network security, encryption, DLP, SIEM, monitoring or similar.
  • Develop and enforce cloud governance policies for access control, logging, and auditing.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement security controls to mitigate vulnerabilities in cloud environments.
  • Work with compliance teams to ensure adherence to ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR, HIPAA, and other security frameworks.
  • Manage cloud firewalls, WAF, VPN, DDoS protection, and zero-trust security models.
• Automation:
  • Automate cloud infrastructure deployment using Terraform, Ansible, Cloud formation or Infrastructure as Code (IaC) or similar.
  • Monitor cloud environments using Azure Monitor, GCP Operations Suite (Stackdriver), or third-party SIEM solutions or similar.
• Networking & High Availability:
  • Architect hybrid and multi-cloud networking solutions including VPC, VNET, ExpressRoute, Cloud Interconnect, and VPN or similar.
  • Implement backup, disaster recovery, and failover strategies for business continuity.
• Security Monitoring & Incident Response:
  • Set up threat detection, logging, and forensic analysis.
  • Manage EDR/XDR solutions, vulnerability scanning, and security audits.
  • Lead incident response efforts for cloud security events.
• Cloud Migration & Landing Zones:
  • Plan and execute cloud migration projects, including lift-and-shift, re-platforming, and re-architecting approaches.
  • Design and deploy secure and scalable landing zones in GCP or Azure, ensuring proper network segmentation, policy enforcement, and identity management.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess application readiness, identify dependencies, and define migration roadmaps.
  • Ensure minimal downtime and data integrity during migrations while adhering to security and compliance requirements.

Core Competencies:

• 5 + years of hands-on experience in cloud engineering, security, and automation.
• Expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or Microsoft Azure, including security services, networking, and IAM.
• Strong knowledge of cloud security frameworks (e.g., CIS benchmarks, NIST, CSA, ISO 27001).
• Hands-on experience with Terraform, Ansible, Cloud formation, Python, Bash, or PowerShell or similar for automation.
• Experience with cloud migrations
• Experience in security operations (SOC), SIEM, XDR, threat intelligence, and vulnerability management.
• Understanding of Windows and Linux server security hardening in cloud environments.
• Experience with cloud-native security tools such as Azure Security Center, Defender for Cloud, Google Security Command Center, Chronicle, and third-party security platforms (e.g. CrowdStrike, SentinelOne, etc.).

• Graduate.
